Canon closing down Irista photo storage service
Five years after its launch, Canon is sunsetting its Irista photo storage service, according to the Irista website. Users have until Jan. 31, 2020, to download their images (which will not include tags, ratings, titles or albums). Users have until Jan. 14 to make and to order photobooks using the Irista service.
Described as “a Dropbox for photos” by CNET at its launch in 2014, Irista was a late entry in photo cloud storage services like OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud. Irista, however, only stored photos, albeit with no file-size limitations.
